Candidate Statement

Candidate Statement:
As parents of two children in the district, strong schools are important to me and my wife. My technology background makes me uniquely qualified to help prepare students for successful careers and to help guide the district on technology decisions and direction. I bring strong academic skills to this position, having worked for the K-12 public schools for over 8 years prior to my current position at Google's datacenter in The Dalles. I have degrees in Computer Science and in Information Management. All children in our district deserve the chance to get the education they need to succeed.

  2. Dave understands how education directly affects the 45 years in the workforce. Coming from an education background and moving into a high tech industry like Google, Dave knows 1st hand the skill set needed for 21st century jobs. Everything in our workforce has advanced technologies and raising our students to understand STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) early on will be the needle mover in the community to educating and preparing the children of White Salmon to realize their potential and move into well paying careers. Dave is using Google resources to inspire the students in the Columbia Gorge via robotics and he will do the same for the district. Deb Mumm-Hill, FIRST PNW Director
